Motorcycle Visors. Tips And Advice

When riding a motorcycle the visor on your helmet serves the same purpose as the windscreen on a car. As such it requires the same attention and should be maintained with the same level of care.

The visor on a helmet is the thin transparent plastic cover over the front of the helmet. Made from a strong, special polycarbonate, it serves as both a visual window and a protective layer for the rider.

Maintaining a motorcycle visor is relatively straight forward. Regularly check when not riding that your visor safely and securely moves up and down. Helmet visors are designed to do this but the fasteners on the visor do wear down over time, so its important to check that they work smoothly.

Wash your helmet regularly. Dead bugs, debris and dirt can attach itself to your helmet when riding and in turn fall onto the visor, damaging it over time. Keeping your entire helmet clean can go a long way in making sure all the parts on it work effectively.
